design/build problem solving
Problem SEVENAn aging Landscape -
this family's home, in a cul-de-sac, gather in their front yard for neighborhood basketball.
The large back yard was undeveloped, lacking any entertainment areas. Their back yard patio was very small with no place to entertain, with too much lawn and no place to grow vegetables.

Installed a nice seating area of tumbled bluestone and ground cover. Replanted the maturing trees, planted a smaller lawn, and drought tolerant shrubs and perennials.
Enlarged the back patio to match existing concrete, installed a kitchen with gas BBQ, sink refrigerator and storage. Moved the hot tub, built redwood stairs and deck for lounging. We added a seat bench and fireplace for a conversation area. Planted a much smaller lawn and planted drought tolerant shrubs.
A wood storage area around back was built to keep the wood dry.
Raised vegetables garden was built of impact posts (made of recycled material).
